Mahr Federal (Providence, Rhode Island) has added a second-floor conference space to Booth E-5614 to make room for discussions of the new technologies it’s introducing at IMTS. They include the MarSurf PS 10 roughness measuring unit for mobile use and the MarShaft Scope 600 plus 3D. Combining optical and touch sensors in the same unit, the MarShaft Scope 600 plus provides 3D functionality and complete inspection of the workpiece in a single measurement. This system was introduced at the Control Show this year in Stuttgart, Germany, and is making its debut appearance in the United States here at IMTS. Visitors can schedule demos in advance.

Make a point of stopping by to see George Schuetz, the company’s director of precision gauges—and longtime Modern Machine Shop columnist—who is autographing copies of his book “Quality Gaging Tips.” Patrick Nugent, vice president of quality systems, is also on hand, offering demos of the MarShaft Scope 600 plus 3D.
