ATI Features New Products in Updated Robotic Demonstrations

The company’s IMTS booth features several live demonstrations of manual toolchangers, force/torque sensors and compliance compensators.

ATI Industrial Automation has incorporated several new products into live demonstrations for IMTS 2018. Two of its products, the Axia80 force/torque sensor and MC-10 manual toolchanger, are being shown on a collaborative robot (cobot) from Universal Robots.

In addition, the booth has a demonstration cell that features two FANUC robot arms simulating a material removal task with the company’s deburring tools and Universal Compliance Compensators (UCC). According to Marketing Manager Charles Haines, the UCC product debuted in late 2017, but this marks its first live demonstration. Lastly, a Kuka robot is demonstrating how ATI’s toolchangers, deburring tools, force/torque sensors and collision sensors enhance robotic productivity.

The booth also includes several kiosks to highlight each of its different product lines, plus a new booth layout that is designed to encourage visitors to collaborate with ATI staff. “We have a broad selection of standard products, but there are lots of situations that call for customized solutions. In addition to our exciting demos, we believe this new, open concept will facilitate even more trailblazing ideas from our customers,” says Mr. Haines.
