"Coolest Thing I've Seen on the Show Floor"
Whether it's a robotic dog, a Corvette-twirling robot or a 3D-printed statue of liberty– IMTS is THE place to see cool new stuff. So we asked attendees – What are you most excited to see here?
Chris Pasion
Managing Editor, Modern Machine Shop | Production Machining
FANUC M-1000iA Large Payload Handling Robot lifting a Corvette on the IMTS 2022 Show Floor. Go check it out in Booth 338919.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve seen at the show so far?!
Eladio Valverde Mendez
Engineer, Representaciones, MR2 S.A., Heredia, Costa Rica
“The coolest thing I have seen today was the Statue of Liberty being machined from tooling board on a C.R. Onsrud 5-axis machine.”
(See the Q Series, or “QUBE” as they call it, which was developed for companies seeking 5-axis high-speed trimming and machining of advanced materials, in C.R. Onsrud’s Booth 338109.)
Anthony Cesare
CNC Manufacturing Engineer, IMI PBM, Irwin, Pennsylvania
“The coolest thing I have seen so far is the Fanuc Robot moving the Corvette around and repositioning it. I think it is unbelievable that you can move that much weight around accurately.”
(Check it out yourself in FANUC’s Booth 338919!)
What are you most excited to see at the show?
Lauren LaDell
National Sales Manager, Motor City Spindle Repair, Dearborn, Michigan
I am really looking forward to seeing the advances machine tools are making throughout the years, as well as the smaller companies who support the machines' overall success. Obviously besides that I am excited to see and meet some of the female representation within the manufacturing industry.
Bob Davis
Global Communications Manager, Sunnen Products Company, St. Louis, Missouri
It has been four years since the last IMTS so I want to check out the latest products in our segment of the industry, which is bore sizing and finishing. Plus I am just excited in general to be at the top manufacturing show in the industry and catch up with customers, competitors and industry friends.

President, LAB Midwest, Erlanger Kentucky
It used to be that not much changed in manufacturing technology every two years. Today, you’ll see technology at IMTS 2022 that didn’t even exist two or four years ago. I can’t wait to see all the emerging smart sensor, smart device, analytics and autonomous mobile robot technology at IMTS. We’ll be talking all about this during our live broadcasts from the TechEd Podcast Studio at the IMTS Education Summit as we host some of the most recognizable names in advanced manufacturing technology on the pod.
Greg McHale
Co-Founder & CTO, Datanomix, Nashua, New Hampshire
As a technologist, I’m really excited to see all of the new, cool technologies that will be featured at IMTS. Keeping up with all the developments in machine tech and supporting software can be difficult, and IMTS gives me an opportunity to see so much over a few days.
The International Manufacturing Technology Show runs September 12 - 17, 2022 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Register for IMTS today to start planning your show.
