Check out the GF Machining Solutions booth, where the #78 Furniture Row Racing Toyota Camry, driven by 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Series Champion Martin Truex Jr., is on display. The booth is also featuring a cutaway engine/powertrain display showing the complex movements of the championship-winning engine produced by Toyota Racing Development (TRD) within a cell comprised of Mikron Mills and System 3R automation. GF Machining Solutions serves as an official technology partner of TRD.
Also in the booth is a range of milling, EDM, laser texturing, additive manufacturing and micromachining technologies, along with automation, tooling and connectivity solutions that address many of today’s toughest manufacturing challenges. Headlining the lineup is the North American debut of the Mikron MILL P 500 U five-axis milling solution. Designed for powerful and dynamic material removal capabilities and high stiffness, it enables continuous machining of complex forms and tough materials while shortening process time.
Other features of the machine include 1.7-G acceleration, a 36-kW Step-Tec spindle, rotary tilting table capacity of 600 kg, and workpiece diameters as large as 707 mm. For heavy-duty machining, the rotary and swivel axes can be clamped, and the swiveling axis has clamping on both side supports.
