Index Debuts Cost-Effective Turning Center
Index showcases a variety of machine tools this IMTS, including the debut of a turning center with FANUC control.
Index has announced that it is demonstrating its full range of precision-machining solutions at its booth at IMTS 2024, located in the South Hall at booth 339119.
This display includes the debut of the C200 FANUC: a cost-effective variant of the company’s production turning centers that combines the benefits of an Index production turning center with a FANUC control. The twin-spindle lathe has three turrets and a responsive SingleSlide guide system that enables the machine to produce complex parts quickly.
The MS40-8 can be seen at Index’s booth, where attendees can learn about the speed with which this multi-tasking machine can produce complex parts.
The company will also be showcasing its multi-spindle machines, including the MS40-8. The machine can be configured with up to 18 CNC slides, as well as additional Y axes, to perform a diverse range of processes. Additionally, the machine’s eight spindles can synchronize in a “double four-spindle mode” to produce two complete parts with every full rotation of the spindle drum. Each of the machine’s spindles are fluid-cooled and can operate independently of the other seven, enabling users to optimize processes more effectively.
Other machine tools on display include the TNL20 turning machine, which can switch between a sliding- and fixed-headstock operation in minutes, and the G220 turn-mill, which incorporates twin-spindle turning with five-axis machining using two turrets and a cutting tool capacity of 169 tools.
Additionally, the company will showcase its extensive customer service offerings, which it dubs the Index iXperience. The company uses this term to refer to the systematic way the company coordinates sales, proposals, project management, applications, service and spare parts teams to provide a more comprehensive approach to customer care. Services range from carefully coordinated maintenance to the sales of single machines to the development and delivery of fully customized turnkey solutions.
