Advanced Machine Vision and Barcode Reading Solutions for Traceability

The data from robust, real-time traceability systems brings enormous value to manufacturing operations, but it can be tricky to capture.

The data from robust, real-time traceability systems brings enormous value to manufacturing operations, but it can be tricky to capture. Omron recently released three new products that are built to help companies get the most out of traceability: the MicroHawk ID-45 industrial barcode reader, the ultra-rugged HS-360X handheld reader, and the powerful Hawk MV-4000 smart camera.

The MicroHawk ID-45 features an array of 24 LEDs as well as powerful decoding algorithms that capture data from direct part marks (DPMs) at lightning speed. With an industry-leading compact design, the barcode reader is an embeddable traceability solution for space-constrained equipment.

The HS-360X boasts an IP67-rated casing and the remarkable ability to withstand multiple tumbles to a concrete floor from as high up as eight feet. Optimized to read nearly any DPM regardless of symbol type and quality, this handheld reader ensures that traceability won’t be interrupted by no-reads or device malfunctions.

The Hawk MV-4000 puts near-PC processing speeds into a single smart camera with its highly advanced machine vision algorithms that perform a wide variety of tasks related to traceability and quality inspection. It features two separate user interfaces in order to accommodate vision newcomers as well as experts.

All three traceability products are designed to be intuitive and user-friendly. The MicroHawk ID-45 needs zero software installation thanks to the browser-based WebLink interface. Rather than requiring applications to be built around traceability technologies, Omron’s solutions give manufacturers the flexibility to design their systems as they wish.
