Toyoda’s newest addition to their Stealth line-up, the VQ1060 linear guideway machining center was designed with successful production in mind. Featuring linear guides, a Meehanite cast iron base and a 10,000-rpm spindle, the VQ1060 is ready to maximize high-performance end milling and boost productivity. During IMTS 2016, Toyoda will be running demonstrations of the VQ’s high-speed dynamic milling capabilities on an aircraft flap track part.
Known as an economical solution for a diverse range of workpieces, the VQ1060’s robust linear guideways and high-performance spindle leave no room for question of this powerhouse’s capability on the shop floor. Heavy-duty, preloaded linear guideways provide excellent vibration dampening capabilities for fast machining.
Adding support to vibration dampening capabilities, the Stealth’s robust cast-iron head stock and spindle are paired with a CAT 40 taper and 10/15-hp motor, offering high-revolution accuracy and thermal stability. Spindle output torque for the VQ1060 reaches 35.4/52.3 foot-pounds while rigid feed rates work 1,417 ipm on the X and Y axes, and 1,181 ipm for the Z axis.
Large AC servomotors in all three axes joined to the ballscrew with highly rigid axial couplings are controlled by an advanced digital signal for faster processing of feedback. The result is support of high thrust loads, instantaneous response without backlash, and the elimination of a need for a mechanical counter balance on the Z axis. Shop owners looking to make a difference in output for aerospace, medical and automotive markets know performance and proven methods of high machining levels deliver a successful business. Toyoda’s Stealth 1060 vertical linear guideway machining center offers outstanding repeatability and thermal stability.
