Lead-Free Alloy Offers Versatility for Many Applications

IMTS 2018: Eural designed 6026LF in accordance with RoHS, ELV and REACH directives to limit the content of lead in aluminum alloys to 0.40 percent.

Eural has designed its 6026LF aluminum alloy in accordance with Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS); End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV); and Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) directives to limit the content of lead in aluminum alloys to 0.40 percent. In addition to providing good corrosion resistance, the alloy has medium-high mechanical properties and is suitable for anodizing, welding and forging. The material is designed for making components used in the automotive, electric, electronic and military industries.

The alloy can be machined on high-speed automatic lathes due to its good chip formation. It does not contain tin, which has a tendency to break without previous deformation. It is also available in drawn or extruded conditions. The alloy is said to be a good alternative to brass and many other aluminum alloys.
