Lyndex-Nikken Introduces Automation Solutions for CNC Machine Tending

Lyndex-Nikken introduces the EZ-Automation product line, which includes the EZ-AutoCart, which targets the automation of CNC machine tending.
Lyndex-Nikken’s EZ-Automation products are designed to be simple, modular and scalable automation solutions that range from machine tending to machine loading to pallet changing and modular tending platforms. The company says that the products offer efficiency and cost-effectiveness, providing user-friendly automation solutions and minimizing the need for advanced robotics or automation skills. EZ-Automation products are also designed to be integrated while controlling costs and easing job complexities for manufacturers.
“The launch our new product line of EZ-Automation solutions meet the evolving needs of manufacturers today,” says Tom Dang, vice president of Lyndex-Nikken. “Machine shops looking to address the shortage of skilled workers and rising operational costs can now rely on Lyndex-Nikken for high-performance automation solutions.”
The EZ-AutoCart, part of Lyndex-Nikken’s EZ-Automation product line, automate CNC machine tending of CNC lathes, mills and similar machines. The EZ-AutoCart machine tending solution can enable machine shops to streamline machine tending with minimal effort; no-code automation makes manufacturers capable of operating the EZ-AutoCart efficiently. Results include boosted spindle time and enhanced overall machine efficiency.
The EZ-AutoCart integration capabilities include:
- Sixteen digital I/O to control peripheral devices
- Manage auto doors open/close
- Manage workholding open/close
- Optional hub provides data mining and quick change between multiple CNC machines
- Monitor CNC machine conditions
The EZ-AutoCart vision capabilities involve:
- Integrated camera for 2/3D vision
- Optional software for 2.5D picking
The EZ-AutoCart is said to contain a payload capacity of 18 kg, a reach of 1,300 mm, maximum joint speed of 435 degrees/sec and repeatability of ±0.025 mm. Additionally, options available include workholding, end-of-arm tooling, infeed grid plates, safety scanners and integration support.
