Metal 3D Printers Use Wire Form Process
IMTS 2018: Gefertec’s GTarc3000-3 and GTarc800-5 metal 3D printers are designed for large-scale production and for research and development applications.
Gefertec’s GTarc3000-3 and GTarc800-5 metal 3D printers are designed for large-scale production and for research and development applications. The models are available with three- or five-axis systems and printing volumes ranging to 3 m³.
These models use the company’s “3D metal print” (3DMP) process, a wire arc additive process said to provide users with a greater range of design options. 3DMP processes the base metal in wire form. According to the company, wire stock enables safe handling and efficient storage, and reduces net waste. Additionally, wire is available in a wide material selection. Thirty materials, including aluminum, steel, titanium and nickel alloys, have been tested with the process.
