John Hart released an updated version of its CellPro controller, a pre-engineered, modular robotic machine tending system designed for Mazak CNC machine tools. The controller’s machine loading process functionality, the Process Builder, is initiated by using the touch screen to drag and drop process modules to build a program.
The Mazak CNC is fully accessible through the CellPro system controller, enabling the operator to input Mazak control data, including tool wear offset information, into the machine without stopping the system.
The system can be configured to present finished parts to the user for inspection through a drawer or chute. Options are available to choose the frequency of inspection as well as to request an instant inspection of the next part coming out of the machine tool. System statistics provide real-time production and system information to report on system performance and help operators improve production efficiencies.
The tending system is said to be compatible with all modern Mazak machines. It controls cells featuring one or more Mazak machines and utilizes any robot from FANUC’s range of six-axis robots. A variety of end-of-arm tooling options support different part shapes, sizes and weights, and part feeding options include pallets, drawer systems and billet feeders to facilitate unattended operation over extended periods of time. A range of in-cell options include part cleaning, drying and marking, re-grip, intelligent vision systems, and quality control functions.
