EMO 2019: Allied Machine and Wohlhaupter Highlight Best Holemaking Innovations
Written by Deborah A. Froelich
Hannover, Germany (August 30, 2019) Allied Machine and Engineering and Wohlhaupter Gmbh, global leaders in holemaking and finishing solutions for today’s manufacturers, invite attendees to see their precision-engineered cutting tools at EMO in hall 4, stand #F52, September 16th – 21st, 2019. Together, they will highlight the new NOVITECH boring system, the material-specific GEN3SYS XT Pro drilling line, a recently expanded APX drilling system, and an extensive collection of specially-designed tooling. Request complimentary admission courtesy of Wohlhaupter Gmbh | Allied Machine and Engineering or schedule consultation with a tooling specialist at EMO by contacting them at marketing@wohlhaupter.de.
See Wohlhaupter’s newest boring tool, the NOVITECH first-hand. It is designed to combine vibration damping technology with the versatility of Wohlhaupter’s MVS design. NOVITECH configures effortlessly with existing Wohlhaupter components to reduce chatter when boring diameters from 50mm – 205mm in extended-reach applications up to 10xD. By incorporating the damper module into more extreme boring applications, machinists can subdue vibrations and increase the machine center’s spindle speed improving productivity, surface quality, and process repeatability.
Machine operators can also encounter a variety of workpiece materials throughout their workweek. Materials like free-machining steel, aluminum, gray cast iron, and copper all present peculiar challenges, whether it is premature tool wear from abrasive surfaces or poor chip formation due to excessive heat generation. That’s why Allied Machine engineered their GEN3SYS XT Pro drilling system to include both an innovative drill body and a series of inserts with ISO material-specific coatings and geometries. The XT Pro drilling line caters to the unique difficulties presented by each material class in order to deliver optimal results in P, K, and N ISO material classes.
Allied Machine and Wohlhaupter will also display the APX drilling line which expanded this summer to include 33mm to 37.99mm diameters. The APX brand continues to be the drill of choice for large-diameter/deep-hole drilling operations, especially in the energy and aerospace sectors. The APX design incorporates a T-A or GEN3SYS XT Pro blade for centering along with indexable carbide inserts allowing higher spindle speeds and improving penetration rates in deeper holes. The modular APX holders are now available in 3xD, 5xD, 8xD, and 10xD.
Global leaders in holemaking and finishing systems, Allied Machine and Wohlhaupter have over 168 years of combined industry experience troubleshooting unique and challenging applications. They understand standard tooling isn’t always the most effective or economical solution and invite guests at EMO to see a collection of specially-designed tooling as well. From designing custom drill inserts to combining several operations into a single tool, Wohlhaupter and Allied Machine have the technical support and engineering expertise to help develop the right tools for your most unique applications.
